Yoga first came to this country in the nineteenth century as a circus side show. The whitewashed yogis in their loincloths performed feats of contortion for amusement of the masses. But now, it’s a different story. Yoga is becoming mainstreamed. From the VA to preschool, everyone can benefit from practicing yoga. The benefits of flexibility, strength, conscious breathing, can alter the effects of stress. We all need the ability to focus within, to become aware of what is going on in our bodies, and in our mind. Yoga offers the way in. The more you practice, the deeper you go. Daily practice is the foundation for knowing yourself, and improving your health. Head to your yoga mat, first thing in the morning, and you will feel better all day, and sleep better at night.
